Celebrating Women in Mining: MLG’s Commitment to Inclusion and Opportunity
MLG proudly celebrated International Women’s Day by shining a spotlight on the incredible women who contribute to our success across various roles.

MLG is thrilled to congratulate Gavin Noy, General Manager of Civil and Mining at MLG on his incredible performance in the SAWA 360 Sprint Car Championship, where he secured an impressive 3rd place overall. Despite the season’s unexpected early conclusion due to heavy rain, Gavin showcased his skill and determination on the track, placing 2nd in his heat.
Sprint car racing is one of the most electrifying forms of motorsport, featuring high-powered, lightweight vehicles that race at high speeds on dirt or paved ovals. The 360 Sprint Car division is known for its competitive edge, with drivers navigating tight corners and rapid acceleration to secure victory. These cars are built for speed, featuring large wings that provide essential downforce to keep them stable while reaching speeds that push the limits of both driver and machine.
This marks Gavin’s second year in racing, and he continues to make remarkable strides in the sport. Fans can expect to see him back on the track this September, ready to take on a new season with the same passion and drive that define his journey so far.
“We are immensely thankful to MLG for their generous sponsorship. Their financial support enables us to maintain our racing program at a competitive level, driving us towards our mission of continuous improvement.”

The final event of the season took place at the iconic Perth Motorplex, a premier motorsports venue in Western Australia that has been a hub for racing enthusiasts since its opening in 2000. Located in Kwinana Beach, the Perth Motorplex hosts a variety of high-octane events, including drag racing, speedway, and burnout competitions, making it a favourite destination for motorsports fans in WA. With a total time of 1:57.208 for 8 laps in his last heat, Gavin demonstrated impressive speed and control on this challenging track.
It was fantastic to see so many MLG employees at the event, bringing homemade signs and cheering Gavin on from the stands. Their enthusiasm and support reflect the strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork that defines MLG’s workplace culture.
MLG is incredibly proud to sponsor Gavin and be part of his racing journey. Supporting dedicated and passionate individuals aligns with our company’s values of teamwork, innovation, and courage. We look forward to seeing Gavin return to the track later this year, ready to chase even greater achievements in the world of Sprint Car racing.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to cheer Gavin on throughout his racing career!
