The milestone vehicle, a 300-ton rated 685hp Mack Titan, was delivered to MLG’s Paddington site in Kalgoorlie, marking a significant achievement for both MLG and Mack Trucks Australia.
The arrival of this historic truck not only underscores Mack Trucks’ long-standing commitment to Australian manufacturing but also highlights MLG’s vital role in supporting the mining industry. With a diverse and robust fleet servicing operations across Western Australia and the Northern Territory, this latest addition positions MLG to meet the growing demands of its clients more effectively.
Manufactured at Mack Trucks Australia’s Wacol facility in Queensland, the Mack Titan represents the pinnacle of durability, innovation, and performance. MLG’s purchase of this landmark truck reflects their continued investment in top-tier equipment to strengthen and expand their operations.
Commenting on the milestone, MLG’s Managing Director, Murray Leahy, expressed pride in the long-standing relationship with Mack Trucks:
“We’re immensely proud and thankful for the support from both Truck Centre WA and also Mack Trucks Australia in helping us build our business around their product over the last 15 years. Our fleet’s growing pretty rapidly, it wasn’t that long ago we were celebrating truck number 100. This is now truck number 150 in our fleet. ”
Truck Centre WA, the authorised Mack dealership responsible for the local delivery and servicing of MLG’s Mack fleet, played a pivotal role in this milestone event. Adrian Boevé, representing Truck Centre WA, was present to oversee the delivery of the Mack Titan into MLG’s fleet, reflecting on the dealership’s enduring partnership with MLG.
Adding to the occasion was the presence of Richard Million, Senior Vice President Strategy & Development Mack Trucks – United States, further emphasising the global significance of this delivery. Million remarked, “We greatly appreciate the long-standing cooperation and partnership with MLG over the years and look forward to the future deliveries as we continue to strengthen our collaboration.”
Million’s attendance underscored Mack’s commitment to maintaining world-class standards in Australian-built trucks, while also highlighting the international ties that have been key to the brand’s success. This global partnership reflects MLG’s focus on investing in cutting-edge, reliable equipment that meets the demanding needs of the mining industry.
The newly acquired Mack Titan will be deployed immediately, transporting gold ore across MLG’s operation at the Paddington gold mine in Western Australia. Known for its versatility and strength, the Titan is perfectly suited for the heavy-duty demands of the mining sector. With fully customisable engineering, each Mack truck is designed to meet the specific requirements of its intended use. In this case, the Titan is tailored to tackle the challenges of operating high GCM road trains in some of the most remote and demanding regions of Australia.
The addition of the Mack Titan further enhances MLG’s ability to deliver efficient and reliable haulage services, underscoring the company’s commitment to operational excellence and fleet innovation.
