This March, MLG proudly celebrated International Women’s Day, shining a spotlight on the incredible women in mining who contribute to our success across various roles. We connected with these hardworking professionals to gain a deeper understanding of their experiences, challenges, and achievements in a traditionally male-dominated industry. At MLG, we are committed to breaking barriers by fostering an inclusive mining workplace where women can thrive in operational, technical, and leadership roles.

Our goal was to highlight how MLG is paving the way for greater diversity in mining, creating opportunities, offering support, and championing women in resources to succeed in roles such as road train operators, mobile plant operators, purchasing officers, site administrators, and business development professionals.

Their insights were inspiring, reinforcing the importance of recognition, equality, and opportunity in the workplace. These women are not just stepping into mining careers—they are excelling in them. When asked what advice they would give to other women considering a career in mining, the overwhelming response was simple yet powerful:

“Give it a go!”

International Women’s Day is more than just a celebration—it’s a reminder of our ongoing mission to create a workplace where women in mining can succeed.

“It’s nice to see that we’re being acknowledged for the right to speak up, the right to equality, and just being acknowledged that we are capable of doing the job just the same as anybody else.”
